I OFFER YOU THE GIFT OF THE PRESENT!
This moment is the only real one. I offer it to you. Accept it only if you want to. Stop doing what others tell
you to do, and take everything as a suggestion for you to CHOOSE (or not to choose) It is up to you.
You can continue to drift along, complaining about what you didn't learn as a child, or you can learn now. NOW.
Now holds all the answers.
These are the basics. It's amazing how many of us did not learn to honor our bodies as children. Sometimes, quite
the opposite. Begin these new habits right now. (Only if they make sense to you) You can honor yourself right
now, why not?
A. Pay close attention to your body, and especially to what it needs. If at all possible, do it right now. Another
word for this is Yoga.
B. Drink a lot of water. Nipple bottles are nice for sips, but they don't lend themselves to taking a
good long drink. Pay attention to every swallow, don't gulp.
C. This leads to lots of urinating. Excellent to cleanse the Kidneys. Always go to the bathroom immediately!
Pay attention to what your body wants. Stop drinking after diner.
D.If you are not having a bowel movement at least once a day, drinking more water may help, for more help, take
a Metamusil type product mixed into warm water every day. Go into the bathroom in the morning and sit down without reading,
give yourself the time every day .
E. Eat many vegetables every day. Go to the store at least 3x a week and load up on whatever is in season. Cook
them, combine them, make recipes your hobby. Eat those vegetables!
F. Chew every mouthful as if you really knew that the ptyalin in your saliva was a God given gift to you to start
the digestive process as you chew your food. Once you swallow the food, you lost your chance to get all that free
ptyalin.
G. Stand and sit as tall as possible all the time. Stretch your spine every chance you get. Slouchy is not
restful, it's stressful.
H. Go to bed early. If you don't fall asleep, use the time for breathing exercises. Aryveda tells us to be in
bed before 10 for the best chance to sleep well. What do you think happened before electric lights? (First city system in
Paris in 1850- less than 200 years for the human body to adjust- I don't think so.)
I. Aim for a regular schedule. It's alright to be flexible, but our bodies need a structured life.
J. If you feel too hot or too cold, do something to comfort yourself. No one is stopping you now from loving
your body.
K. Shoes! Stand up with your weight on one foot next to your shoe. Does it look like that foot will fit into
that shoe easily and comfortably? Go through your closet and get rid of all shoes that don't fit. There is no occasion so
important that it is worth your feet! We laughed at the Chinese ladies who allowed their feet to be bound. The last laugh
is on those wearing high heels. The reason you may think they are sexy is that they are incapacitating, they make some men
feel strong by putting a woman in a one-down position- you don't have to do that to yourself! Sexy is a feeling inside of
you, not in a pair of shoes.
L. Make vegetables the main course of the meal, using chicken and fish as accompiments.
M. Give yourself a head and face massage every day. Give yourself a foot massage every day. Love your belly.
It wants a massage too.
N. Buy clear seseme oil. Bring it just up to a boil. Allow it to cool and put into spray bottle. Use it to cover
your body every morning before your shower. Watch how it soaks right in, your skin needs it. It also prevents "Athletes Foot".
M. Take a walk every day as if you were enjoying life. You soon will be.
N. Plant something. Find a corner for a few seeds and water them. If you can't have a "big garden", you can always
do that. Also, vegetables can do nicely even amongst the flowers.
O. Skin brushing really helps your lymph system detoxify itself. Brush gently and awarely towards your heart,
as if you really do love yourself. This helps many people fall asleep.
P. Put yourself in a good mood before sleep. A few easy gently Yoga stretches are good. Some soft sweet music.
Anything pleasant. Avoid the news like the plague.
Q. Avoid the news, period. It's not really the news anyway. It's all the calamities and catastophies in the whole
world, dug up and wrapped up to be the most attention grabbing possible. What could you put your attention on to better advantage?
R. Meditate daily. Start simple. Sit on chair (or cross legged on floor only if comfortable). Time yourself with
timer if you have to get somewhere. Take off your watch. Close your eyes and watch your thoughts with your inner eye. Let
them come and go, like the train at a crossing, you sit and you watch, they come and they go.
S. Allow time for your "inner work"every day. Start on your "Healing Journey" now. If not now, when?
T. If you are raising little children and working full time as well, your lessons for now may well be just to
"be with them" at this time. It's enough for one human being. Stop expecting yourself to be Superwoman. Allow it, and
enjoy it.
U. Remember to feel gratitude every day. I was concerned about the style of my shoes until upon the street, I
chanced to meet a man who had no feet. Can you find things, large and small every day to feel gratitude for?
V. Mindfulness Meditation is a fancy word for learning to focus on whatever you are doing. You make it important,
even awesome, to do the most ordinary daily activities when you focus.
W. You are always breathing anyway, so why not remember to enjoy it while it's happening. It is the gift of life.
